About Us

Parklane Women’s Imaging Centre was established in 2012 across the road from the Netcare Park Lane Hospital in Johannesburg.
The department is dedicated to breast cancer diagnosis and providing radiology support for breast cancer treatment.

The imaging equipment used in the Parklane Women’s Imaging Centre is state-of-the-art and includes Tomosynthesis(3D) mammography, high resolution ultrasound, and breast MRI.

We perform core and vacuum biopsies under ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI guidance. In addition, the department helps with pre-treatment staging, treatment monitoring and surgical planning.

Our department works as part of a multidisciplinary breast cancer team. The team has specialist breast surgeons, reconstructive surgeons, oncologists and pathologists. Treatment decisions are based on diagnostic results, including radiology. All therapeutic decisions are collaborative.

Parklane Women’s imaging Centre is the only unit in South Africa accredited by the American College of Radiologists (ACR) for mammography, stereotactic biopsy and breast MRI.

Parklane Women’s Imaging Centre is affiliated with the Parklane Radiology department. Parklane Radiology is based in the Netcare Parklane Hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg. The department offers general imaging services with a strong focus on women, children and oncology radiology.
